Firestopping

Tested and listed firestop systems that seal every penetration through fire-rated walls and floors.

About Firestopping

Every pipe, duct, conduit, and cable tray that passes through a fire-rated wall or floor leaves a hole in that rating. Firestopping closes it. Done right, it keeps fire and smoke from moving through the building through those openings long enough for people to get out and for responders to do their job.

We install firestop systems that match the tested assembly for each penetration, so what goes in the wall is what the inspector expects to see. Every penetration is documented so the project closes out cleanly.

Firestopping FAQs

What is a tested firestop system?+

It's a specific combination of products and installation details that has been fire-tested for a particular wall or floor, penetrating item, and opening size. Using the right listed system for each condition is what lets the assembly keep its fire rating.

Can you fix firestopping that failed inspection?+

Yes. We survey existing penetrations, identify what doesn't match a listed system, and correct it so the project can pass reinspection.

Do you firestop insulated pipe?+

Yes, and it's one of our strengths. Because we also install mechanical insulation, we know how insulated penetrations need to be detailed so the insulation and the firestop system work together.
